New tiny one called Lila.

Little Lila is just under 3 inches and made with fluffy soft pink vintage velvet.Her eyes are glass and she is filled with cotton and granulat.She wears a home made broderie anglaise frock.I have aged her and her dress for a vintage look and feel.She is a one and only and costs $170 plus $7 postage.If anyone is interested please e-mail me at sconeyjo@aol.com

My daughter Hayley is home from uni where she studies art history and architecture.She is home for the summer and taken up making elephants.This wee set is our first collaboration and was great fun.

Its finally summer in scotland .People here dont have air conditioning so it gets a bit difficult to work indoors.

Aernt pandas hard to name???I have run out of clever names and resorted to silly fripperie.

Swee-ti (not sweaty by the way)is a fluffy wee number and on ebay tonight.

I have missed all the best tennis shots making her today.Tennis is not a good thing to try and watch while sewing,my head has been up and down like a nodder.

Nadal ,Moya and Monaco won so it was a good day.

I have worked hard all day today despite the glorious sunny weather.

I just listed a red bear with a very silly name.He is russian looking and red so he is named Stroganoff !!!

Gogle and Bogle were a fun pair to make.I used old fabrics that my friend Elizabeth Leggat gave me.

They are 3.5 and 5.5 inches tall and on ebay at the moment.

Its summer here now and its hard to stay sitting at the worktable.

I have finished old Lizzie at last.She is supposed to represent Queen Elizabeth.

Her mohair is very dense and tough so my poor hands are sore.

She will be on ebay later.

Hi everyone.Its finally sunny here in Scotland.I just cut my grass and felled a tree and now I am back at my work table.I am attempting to make Queen Elizabeth complete with red hair and ruffle.

I have a ballet bear listed on ebay just now.Its fun making character bears.

Friday the 18th

Its a damp soggy day in scotland.I just finished a wee girl called Ruth.She has turned out small with chunky thighs just like her mum.

She is six inches high and made with vintage mohair in a lovely honey shade.She wears a wee frock made with vintage flannel and lace.I have traditionally filled her with woodwool,cotton and some granulat so she can stand unaided.Her adoption fee will be $180.I will be listing her on ebay unless anyone takes a fancy to her before then.

wed 16th april

I have finished my dolly and bear at last.I am a bit scared of Jane but she is growing on me.I have used all antique and vintage fabrics including the filling and thread on this pair.The mohair is 100 years old and looks fab.

I will be listing them on ebay later.

I have named them Cassandra and Jane after the Austin sisters.

In memory of my late brother who was a wonderful artist I am having an arty day.I want to design my first dolly and will post any worthwhile designs.

Its pouring here in scotland and the scottish word Dreach is very apt.

The beautiful blue tiger was one of his works .He sadly died this day 16 years ago and I miss him as much as ever.

Wee Scone Bears

Hi,

My name is Diane Kennedy and I have been making collector teddies for 13 years now.I live in a tiny wee village in Scotland and share my home with my daughter (when homefrom uni) four lovely dogs a not so lovely cat and forty fish.

I make as many of my bears from vintage fabrics as I can and they are all oneof a kind.The bears are well travelled and I have them in 14 different countries now.Sadly I dont get to visit.

I would like to share my bear making days with any of you interested and post pictures of my inspirations as well as the bear making proccess and of course the end results.

I am going to attempt my first doll this weekend.I have ahd a lifelong fear of the wee scooters so this is quite an ambition.I always had furry babies in my pram as a child and feel so lucky to get to make and sell them for a living.

The bear on the right was made with 100 year old mohair which was a trial to sew but I like the end result.

I will sign off for today before I make any spelling mistakes.See you soon.
